With several layers of cushions you can get a professionally decorated bed. Decorative cushions reflect style, comfort, beauty, warmth and inspiration.

From the beginning of their use they have occupied a special place in palaces and large villas. In the beginning, they were a privilege of the rich, and some of them were found in Egyptian tombs. In ancient China, a pillow was a block made of stone, wood, metal or porcelain.

Tailoring pillows was an art in China and Persia, and then in medieval Europe, until the industrial revolution brought a massive production and made them available to everyone. Cushions are today made of soft cotton or silk material, quilted with feathers, fluff, synthetic materials, wool, buckwheat and other. In bedroom décor a cushion has a special place. The use of many, many cushions is a new, creative and simple decorative approach!

There is a wide variety of shapes and sizes, colours and materials, textures and patterns to create a modern and stylish room. With the proper selection of cushions and some simple rules you will get an interesting and professionally decorated bed. It is essential to choose a few cushions that will fit into the existing design and bed cover. They can be made of silk, brocade, damask, satin or velvet.

You should arrange pillows in layers, so they stand on their edges in rows, not laid down for sleep because you will get a bunch of stacked cushions. The first row near the head of the bed should be higher than others. Place three or five pieces, depending on the size of the bed. You can use ordinary cushions for this row. The second row should be smaller, made of decorative fluffy cushions which will also be arranged to stand on edges and lean them on the first row. They should be arranged in the shape of a pyramid.

As a last detail you can place a cylinder shaped cushion or some small cushions for the last row. There is no rule, but you should start with a smaller number of cushions and later add some more if necessary. Play with the colours and patterns, fitting them in the room décor, and have fun relying on your taste and inspiration.
