Surrounded by amazing view of water and landscape beyond, the house is created to fully explore the outdoor and allow natural light slip in through the faceted Mahogany framed windows.
This luxury two-acre waterfront lot comes in a series of large and intimate courtyards and cantilevered decks that perfectly expose the Italian limestone and stucco facades. Located in the hillside, this modern home gets unobstructed view of the marina in an inland waterway. Measuring about 12,300 square foot, the house was completed in 2008 by Hughes Umbanhowar Architects.
The River Road house is distinguished by series of rectilinear volumes conjoined by a transparent longitudinal axis, while a glass-skinned throughway connects two main volumes, providing enough light for the interior. Several materials such as glass, limestone, stucco, and mahogany outline are used for designing the exterior. The interior is presented in beautiful design as well as the exterior.
The framing technique allows us to enjoy dramatic views of the water from inside the house. Well arrangement of the programs lets a harmonious movement from public to private space. Some materials like Mahogany, Minnesota limestone and plaster finishes provide a gracious interior design. Aluminum louvers and astute structural arrangement add beauty to the design, while bulthaup kitchen is opened to the exterior courtyard via a sliding window wall. Enjoy the images below.
