`Spiral Cellars` company is the specialist creator of underground cellars offering a flexible, unique and simple system for storing fine wines in the home…

The spiral cellar was first developed by Frenchman Georges Harnois in 1977 for storing wines at optimum humidity, temperature and darkness and works by using the earth`s natural attributes and a clever ventilation system…

Its position in the ground means that the cellar remains at the consistent temperature of around 13°C, and the ventilation and concrete construction maintain humidity of approximately 70% which makes it a perfect place for storing a box of Burgundy wine…

The spiral cellar is the ideal option for wine lovers and collectors. A watertight cylindrical concrete system is sunk into the earth through the ground floor of the house. It can be reached from the kitchen, living room, lounge, garage or garden, and its size option offer great flexibility whatever your wine collection.

What a wonderful and innovative way to build a wine cellar in a small home… With a set diameter of 2m and depths of between 1,35m and 3m allowing storing for between 650 and 1870 bottles. With features such as reinforced or retractable glass doors, the cellar can easily be customized to the individual home.

Cellar options include a mini cellar with a choice of twp depths for up to 770 bottles, an original spiral cellar with five depth options for up to 1600 bottles and a white spiral cellar in smooth luminous concrete which includes larger boxes in each of its depths for up to 1870 bottles.

The white spiral cellar also offers a range of features including LED lighting, wider steps and a range of step tread inlays, including leather and slate effect inlays for the wine collectors who like to enjoy and share their cellar space with others. `Spiral Cellars` works with the clients to decide on the best cellar for their needs and the most suitable location in the house.

The best part about the spiral cellar design is the fact that it can be installed into an existing ground floor room or into any part of the house on the ground level. You can get your own spiral cellar and enjoy the love for wine forever. Over the last two and a half decades, more than 20.000 spiral cellars have been built in France and over 3.000 in the UK.

For people living outside the UK the original inventor, Georges Harnois installs cellars throughout France and Europe, so if this is what you want in your home, you should give him a call…
